Bamboo Fly Rods

I make my bamboo rods one at a time in a dedicated free standing shop. I have built my own specialized machinery to assist in some of the processes of making rods but the majority of the work is done with hand tools. I am only set up to make hexagonal (six sided) rods at this time.

I have recently learned some new construction methods which include; hollow building, 12 strip mortised butts, and even bamboo ferrules.

Although I have developed some special tapers that I believe are great casting rods, I also have over 500 classic tapers to choose from to make a rod for you. I make rods from 1 wt. to 9 wt. in lengths from 5 to 9 1/2 ft. and in 1, 2, 3, and even 4 piece configurations. Instead of reproducing classic rods to exact standards,  I specialize in making true custom rods that meet the needs of my customers.

Pricing: I have made over 200 rods now and I have actually lowered my prices since moving to NE Arkansas. The overhead for my business is considerably less than when I was in Denver so I felt I should pass that on to my customers. Some people might consider my prices to be too low but I believe that these prices are fair to me and my customers. Yes, I could charge more for the quality of work that I am producing but I want to keep my rods within reach of the everyday fisherman because that is what I am myself. (If you feel you need to pay more, I won't argue!)
