Customer Testimonials

For my son's graduation, I decided to give him a gift that will bring him a lifetime of use and pleasure, namely a handcrafted Fultz bamboo rod. I have collected bamboo rods for many years and have truly seen it all by now. The rod you built for my son is one of the finest bamboo rods I have ever held. The attention to detail in a Fultz rod is legendary and this rod is no exception. Most importantly, my son's rod is a delight on rivers, streams and lochs. He has fished his Fultz rod in Colorado and in Europe. We get some strong winds here in Ireland and Scotland . A Fultz rod with its Western US heritage is perfect for taming a "fresh breeze". Remarkably, his Fultz rod is just as adept at handling still conditions that require delicacy. I don't know how you do it, but I've watched you hand plane these wondrous rods and I know you put a good deal of time and thought into each creation. You are a skilled fly fisher and I have to believe all of your hours on the streams and high altitude lakes of Colorado strongly influences your designs.

Keep up the good work and I cannot wait until I have my own Fultz rod.

"I always thought my first bamboo rod would cast like a broomstick. Thanks to your class, I not only increased my learning curve by about 3 years, but saved hundreds of dollars in mistakes and had a fun, frustration-free time doing it. Now I have a rod that I can hardly wait to fish and I'm proud to say that I made it myself. Thanks!" Aaron Dimig - Denver, CO

"Mr. Fultz, the rod arrived today. After 40 years with a fly rod in my hand, this brings
back fond memories of my first good rod. I still love my cane rods, and would be foolish not to use state of the art graphite at times, but this rod is somehow something special. Not to mention the beautiful workmanship of yours, which adds tremendously to the trip down memory lane. Thank you. Rest assured it will bring much pleasure on the stream." George R. Kawchak Jr. - Chester Springs, PA

"Jeff, the sweet little rod arrived today. It's too dark to try casting it now, but I've lined it up with a 4-wt. line and will try it and order a 3-wt. line tomorrow. I'll let you know when it hits the water. I am very happy with my purchase." Bob Redman - Anaheim, CA

"Thanks for doing such a great job on my flipping stick. The feel and balance are incredible. The spiraled guides provide tremendous fighting stability. This rod is capable of putting at least one extra bass in the boat each day and that's worth a lot to me. Thanks!" Matt Allen - Tournament Bass Fisherman Upland, IN

"Hi Jeff, well I took the 9ft 3wt rod you made me up to British Columbia on the Bull River. If you remember this is the trip I had the rod made for. As it turned out the long 3wt rod was the perfect call. The largest fish were not over 20in and I was throwing some large bugs. The extra length made a huge difference. I was throwing great big Turk's Tarantulas 50 and 60 feet. We had an awesome trip, catching well over 50 fish per day. Your rod worked perfect. Just wanted to say thanks!"
